2020 THE YEAR OF DOMINION – OUR SEASON OF KINGDOM AUTHORITY
Motto: Dominion is my heritage in Christ
And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. Genesis 1: 28
I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. Luke 10:19
God gave mankind dominion right from the onset of creation. What is left for every man is to “take dominion” within his purpose area by simply enforcing kingdom authority. Every prophetic word places a specific practical demand on the hearer. Only a person who is willing to take responsibility to do all required of the promise of the Lord can commit God of the covenant to perform.
My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips. Psalm 89:34
Yes, there is always something to do to convert God’s prophetic promises to reality.
Though His promises are forever, it can only be enjoyed by “whosoever” shall claim it by faith.
God always blesses those who actually take steps of faith to convert His promise to covenant.
Jesus said to them, “Fill the waterpots with water.” So they filled them up to the brim. 8And He said to them, “Draw some out now and take it to the headwaiter.” So they took it to him. 9When the headwaiter tasted the water which had become wine, and did not know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the headwaiter called the bridegroom, 10and said to him, “Every man serves the good wine first, and when the people have drunk freely, then he serves the poorer wine; but you have kept the good wine until now.” 11This beginning of His signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee and manifested His glory and His disciples believed in Him. John 2:7-11
When He had finished speaking, He said to Simon, “Put out into the deep water and let down your nets for a catch.” 5Simon answered and said, “Master, we worked hard all night and caught nothing, but I will do as You say and let down the nets.” 6When they had done this, they enclosed a great quantity of fish, and their nets began to break. Luke 5:4-6
Go," he told him, "wash in the Pool of Siloam" (this word means "Sent"). So the man went and washed, and came home seeing. John 9:7
Dominion is the birthright of every believer. Like an eagle, we are all born for flight.
Every eagle is born to soar so your destiny is to fly higher this year, if only you will take the step.
Remember that our Lord is a promise giving but covenant-keeping God. Playing the expected part in God’s plan converts His promise to a covenant that He confirms by all means.
Every Word of God is prophetic. Every prophetic word is however activated by taking specific action.
Major platforms for conferment of dominion
Set out now and cross the Arnon Gorge. See, I have given into your hand Sihon the Amorite, king of Heshbon, and his country. Begin to take possession of it and engage him in battle. Deut. 2:24
Waiting for prophecy is wasting. You commit God to confirm His promise only by taking action.
God has "given" to us dominion. It is now left for us to "possess" it. We are left to "take" dominion!
To enable us to walk in dominion this 2020 and beyond, we are going to operate on certain spiritual platforms (guaranteed to convert God’s promises to covenant that will surely be confirmed in our lives.)
Our church activities, teaching, conferences and programs would be maximizing spiritual platforms to implement God’s agenda for dominion for our congregation. Some of the major platforms include:
1) Divine Revelation
Now I commit you to God and to the word of his grace, which can build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified (Acts 20:32.)
Dominion is our birthright and heritage in Christ Jesus but we need revelation to access it.
The same way aeroplane flies by light do we need scriptural insight to walk in dominion.
Throughout the year, for instance, we shall be walking through revelation required to enforce "kingdom authority" in our various place of assignments, in order to enjoy our dominion mandate.
a) Illumination is necessary for elevation. In the Kingdom of God, you can only receive what you see. You do not just pray into God’s prophetic words and promises; you claim them by revelation. The LORD said to Abram after Lot had parted from him, "Look around from where you are, to the north and south, to the east and west. 15 All the land that you see I will give to you and your offspring forever (Genesis13:14-15).
b) Enlightenment is required for rising the same way insight is necessary for flight. To claim dominion over the confusion on earth, the first step God took was to create a light, “And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light (Genesis1:3.)" The beauty of enlightenment is that it causes you to rise and shine and attract great resources and personalities to your side. Every resource you need to reign in dominion this year is accessible by enlightenment. Arise; shine; for your light has come (Isaiah 60:1-3)!
c) The source of your enlightenment is the Word of God. The more the Word of God you have in you the more your faith blossoms for dominion. Faith grows by hearing the Word of God (Rom.10:17). You need the light of the Word of God to prevail over the darkness of the world. John 1:1-5 states, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him, and without him was not anything made that was made. 4 In him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shineth in darkness & the darkness comprehended it not.” It takes the illuminating light from the Word of God to prevail over the darkness of the world. As the LORD rises upon you and his glory appears over you, you will prevail (Isaiah 60:1-2.)
This year 2020 shall be a year of revelation as we flow in the knowledge of the power of vision, power of praise as a weapon of dominion, the wisdom of exercising your kingdom authority etc.
2020 shall also be a year to richly ravish the Word of God. You will know the truth and the truth will set you free to reign in dominion (John 8:32.)The Great Daniel who served under three or more major Kings in Babylon consecutively achieved that enviable feat because of great enlightenment accruing from the knowledge of the Word of God. According to him, “ I, Daniel, understood from the Scriptures, according to the word of the LORD given to Jeremiah the prophet (Dan 9:2).
This year 2020 shall also be for us, a year of the book. Apostle Paul who authored almost half of the entire New Testament was an avid reader. Talking to Timothy, he said, “When you come, bring the cloak that I left with Carpus at Troas, and my scrolls, especially the parchments (2 Tim 4:13.)”
2) Genuine Stewardship
Jesus called them together and said, "You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. 26 Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, 27 and whoever wants to be first must be your slave. 28 just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many (Matt. 20:25-28.)
a) Stewardship is the foundation for kingdom greatness
He who wants to be great among you, let him be a servant of all (Luke 22:25-27)!
Jesus Christ practised what He preached by serving obediently to death, “even death on a cross! Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth (Eph.2:8-10.)"
b) Stewardship is the bridge to dominion in the Kingdom of God
Great men that enjoyed dominion in the Bible were men of service (Ps. 89:21-24; Dan. 3:27; 6:20.)
God blessed Abraham his servant and his seeds (Psalm 105: 42-45)
God blessed Joshua who made a choice to serve the Lord with his entire household (Josh. 24:15)
God had a special relationship with His servant Moses (Numb 12:6-7; Deut. 34:5,10-12)
King David was blessed so much for serving God's purpose in his generation (Acts 13:36)
c) The source of your blessing in the kingdom is your service
Serving God opened believer to great blessings (Exodus 23:25-29.)
Until you are bent on serving God and the interest of His Kingdom, you are no candidate for dominion.
You don’t need to be pastor to serve God, Abraham was not. Isaac was not. Jacob was not and Job was not. These were all private businessmen. Have you considered my servant Job? (Job 1:8)
This year shall be a year to serve the Lord and the Body of Christ passionately.
It shall be a year to offer excellent stewardship in your service, finance, relationship etc.
As you honour God with your resources, as a good steward, may the Lord (the Source of your blessing) continue to bless you abundantly. May whatsoever you do continue to prosper. Amen.
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth" (Acts 1:8.)
The seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name.” 18And He said to them, “I was watching Satan fall from heaven like lightning. 19“Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy and nothing will injure you.
a) The passion of Jesus Christ while on earth is to save lost souls. His mission was to restore mankind back to the Lord (John 3:16.) God intends all believers to share the gospel of salvation to everyone living around them from your immediate neighbour to those living in the uttermost path of the earth.
b) The soul is the most priceless material on earth. Whatever you gain on earth, once you lose your soul, you are a great looser. A soul in the heavenly equation is worth more than any material possession on earth (Mark 8:36-38.)
c) It is great wisdom for believers to invest their lives in the passion of Christ. The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and he that wins souls is wise (Prov11.30.)
This year is devoted to sharing the gospel of Christ with all and sundry through many of the C.I.C. outreach programs. Every member is encouraged to be involved in relationship evangelism where you intentionally share friendship with people in order to lead them to Christ.
Every small group is expected to integrate outreach programs into their numerous activities.
4) Spiritual Warfare
Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses (1 Tim.6:12.)
a) Every believer is born into spiritual warfare. We, however, wrestle not against mankind but against the spiritual beings serving satanic purposes on earth (Ephesians 6:12.) Such are the reasons for every breakdown, blockage, bondage, curse and evil we experience daily.
b) Every believer is called to fight the good fight of the faith. The good thing about the good fight of the faith is that no one is meant to lose unless you intentionally stop or quit. Jesus Christ already defeated the devil on the cross at Calvary and all we are doing is enforcing that victory by faith.
c) If you are not celebrating any victory in the recent, perhaps you are not fighting. Victory is only reserved for fighters. Without the cross, there is no crown. Every victor is called to a fight.
This year, we are declaring battle against the gates of hell. For as many believers that will fight the forces of darkness, the victory of light is assured. Jesus Christ, Himself confirmed, that “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you (Luke 10:18-19.)
5) Call to Great Endurance
a) Endurance is the major key to win all our spiritual warfare. Other translation of the scripture, James 1:4, translates endurance (Darby Bible Translation & Berean Bible) to be patience (KJV & NKJV); perseverance (New Int. Version) and steadfastness (English Standard Version.)
b) That simply means winning spiritual warfare is sure but it follows the process of a pursuit consisting of perseverance, persistence and patience, which I call endurance. It takes endurance to fight to the end.
It is endurance that turns our engagement against the opposition to victory.
c) God wants whatever we do to prosper (Ps 1:3) and the key to attaining that is endurance.
For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it lingers, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay (Hab. 2:3.) Only the one who endures (perseveres) to the end will be saved (Matt 24:13.)
Every success and victory in life requires the process of pursuits. Most of the life pursuits are marathons rather than sprinting. While sprinters maximize muscle for speed, marathon runners maximize muscles for endurance. Believers are called to endure the race of life to the very end where God awaits all with the victory. That is why the Bible says, "even though a righteous man may fall for seven times, God expects us to rise again and continue the process to the end without giving up (Proverbs 24:16.)"
It is not enough to start anything this year, you will need to pursue it to the very end, with endurance!
6) Call to Complete Obedience
a) Obedience to God grants man access to enjoy His blessings. Abraham enjoyed a great relationship with God because of his fanatical obedience to God’s instruction.
When God called Abram at the old age of 75 years to leave his family, home and people to a new land he is foreign to, Abram obeyed God immediately (Genesis 12:2-4.) When God appeared to Abram at the age of 99 years and ask him to circumcise himself, his children and all his slaves in a covenant with him, Abram did it the same day (Genesis 17.) When at last he got the promised child- Isaac- and God tested him to sacrifice him, immediately he carried the child and proceeded for the sacrifice. It took only God to stop that attempted murder (Gen. 22:1-9 .) What a crazy obedience! It all signified his complete trust and love for God. No wonder God blessed Abram in everything and in every way (Genesis 13:2; Genesis 24:1.)
b) Jesus’ secret of greatness is His obedient service to the Lord. He humbled self and became obedient even to death (Philip 2:6-10.) "It was for that reason that God gave Him a name above all other names and that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth."
c) It is blessed to trust and obey God in your walk of faith. In the Kingdom Of God, obedience is rated higher than any human sacrifice (1 Sam.15:22.) Isaiah 1:19 states that “If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the good things of the land.” Everything done in obedience to God attracts His blessing.
The level of dominion you will experience this year will commensurate to your level of obedience.
I admonish you to take time to listen to the voice of God on every issue this year and to obey Him.
7) Praising God
Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord (Psalm 150:6.)
a) To praise God in all situations and at all time is a commandment with a blessing (not a suggestion.)
So long you can breathe, God expects you to praise Him. The most important thing to you while you are alive is the breath of God in you. It is His confirmation and approval for your continuous existence. Everything else becomes insignificant when you cease to be alive. Get it?
b) We are engaging God’s presence with praise. That is because God inhabits our praises (Psalm 22:3.) God cannot abstain from praise. It is the natural habitat where He lives. When you thank Him for what he does, you move into His gates, but when you praise Him for whom He is, you glide into His court where you naturally access His presence, power and provision (Psalm 100:4.)
c) Praise switches on the blessing of God upon mankind.
Your gratitude will always affect your altitude. Psalm 67:5-7 says, “ Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee. 6 Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us. 7 God shall bless us, and all the ends of the earth shall fear him”.
Praise is also a great weapon of dominion.
While we plead for divine intervention in prayer and other acts of faith, we invoke the instant intervention of God in an atmosphere of praise. He is a God that dwells in the praises of His people (Psalm 22:3.)
When the three Hebrews men, were thrown to the furnace, the image of the fourth one, looking like a son of gods appeared with them while they were praising the Lord, and the fire lost its power to burn them (Daniel 3:23-30.)
Also when the Children of Israel, faced the Red Sea, they started praising the Lord till He came down into their midst. The sea saw Him and fled and mountains saw Him and rolled away (Psalm 114.)
When the Children of Israel faced the Jericho wall, the priests and other worshippers led them in praise of God and the Jericho wall collapsed on its own accord (Joshua 6:1-20.)
When Paul and Silas started praising God in their midnight hours, the prison gates were torn opened and their chains fell off (Acts 16:25-34.)
We want to dwell warmly in the presence of the Lord throughout the year by creating an atmosphere of praise and worship in all our activities and meetings. We want to praise Him and celebrate His person and His presence. In every situation, He deserves all our praise and we shall give Him all the glory. Remember also to roll out your instruments of worship throughout this year to praise God always especially whenever you need His direct intervention in your situation. This year will surely end in joy.
Now, go out there and take dominion!
In this year 2020, in the mighty name of Jesus, you will have dominion over sin and its satanic cause.
Your dominion over failure, sickness, poverty and untimely death is established this year,
Your authority over every situation and circumstance of life shall be enforced speedily.
You say to one go, and they will go and to another one come, and they shall come.
Your joy shall be full this year for you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. You have been redeemed as the light and the salt of the world. Your light shall shine brighter this year- as a part of a city built upon a hill that cannot be hidden. Go on, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. Have dominion!
